those weekly updates
like letters from fictitious
Aunt Edna, the one
who circumnavigated
the world for a cup of tea
you never know when
she might drop by, but always
she brings some tidbits
something personal, something
marvelous, some business too
she's the CEO
of our dream ark, directing
the volunteer crews
singing praise song for coders
and latest in home design
showing us the maps
of what's to come, the places
being created
the embassies to
nations big and small, and the
history-writers
who chart our course in hindsight
who make us real in telling
she reminds us once
a week that community
is a joint effort
that people are there to help
that there's twitter when stuff breaks
that our suggestions
are wanted, and that we can
always unsubscribe
such letters are a pleasure
in an age of hidden news
--
